ROSEMONT, Ill. -- The Big Ten Conference announced Monday afternoon (May 4) the opponent breakdown for the University of Michigan volleyball team's 2026 conference schedule, which will feature a new 17-match format.
The adjusted schedule reflects the addition of the Big Ten Volleyball Tournament, set to begin on Nov. 20. The winner will receive the Big Ten's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
In 2026, Michigan will face all 17 Big Ten teams with eight matches at home highlighted by Nebraska, Ohio State and Penn State. The Wolverines will also host Indiana, Iowa, Oregon, Purdue and Washington this season. U-M will play nine matches on the road, traveling to Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Michigan State, Northwestern, Rutgers, UCLA, USC and Wisconsin. The home-and-away rotation will flip in 2028.
Conference match dates and times will be announced at a later date.
Michigan returns 13 players from last season's 22-11 squad and welcomes four newcomers as head coach Erin Virtue enters her fourth season leading the program.
