PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -- University of Michigan second baseman Colby Turner and catcher Noah Miller were selected Sunday (July 12) during the second day of the Major League Baseball Draft. Turner was selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 12th round (347th overall), while Miller was chosen by the Houston Astros in the 19th round (571st overall).
Turner is the first Wolverine drafted in 2026 and follows Mitch Voit, who was drafted last season by the New York Mets. Under head coach Tracy Smith at Michigan, Turner is the third Wolverine drafted.
The junior spent two seasons in Ann Arbor after playing his freshman season at San Diego State. In his two years at Michigan, Turner played in 102 games, starting 96, across the infield and outfield, but spent most of the time at second base in 2026. He compiled a .317/.399/.549 slash line over his two seasons in maize and blue, finishing tied for 30th all-time in home runs (19) and 19th in slugging percentage in program history (.549). Turner finished his Michigan career with 28 doubles, 84 runs and 89 RBIs while drawing 40 walks.
He earned multiple awards in his junior season after finishing fourth in the Big Ten Conference in batting average at .367. Turner earned All-Big Ten first-team and American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region honors on the way to becoming the first Wolverine since 2019 to earn multiple All-America honors in the same season.
The Twins have selected four Wolverines in the MLB Draft, the last being Steven Hajjar (2nd round) in 2021.

Miller has spent all three seasons at Michigan, playing in 87 total games, including 48 games in 2026. The redshirt sophomore started 45 games behind the plate this season, totaling 161 at-bats and posting a .292 batting average to rank third on the team. He also finished with a .375 on-base percentage and a .398 slugging percentage with 11 extra-base hits, including three home runs. Miller scored 20 runs on 47 hits with 26 RBI and reached on 14 walks while striking out just 28 times. He was also a strong defender, throwing out 10 of 34 would-be base stealers and posting a .992 fielding percentage.
Miller tallied 12 multi-hit games in 2026, which included two three-hit games -- one at Michigan State and the other at Minnesota. In his career, Miller boasts a .292/.387/.424 slash line with 71 hits over 87 games. He has earned All-Big Ten Tournament Team honors in back-to-back years, going 9-for-23 with three runs and seven RBI over his two Big Ten Tournaments.
The Astros have selected six Wolverines in the MLB Draft, with the last being Jordan Brewer (3rd round) in 2019.
