NEW YORK -- The University of Michigan women's basketball team will now face Oklahoma in the Women's Champion Classic during the 2026-27 season, facing off against the Sooners on Dec. 5 at the Barclays Center. The game is set for 2 p.m. and can be seen live on Fox.
Joining Michigan and Oklahoma at the event are Maryland and Connecticut, who will face off at 4:30 p.m. following Michigan's game. Limited tickets (single admission for both games) are still available on Ticketmaster.
Michigan was originally slated to play Iowa State in the event, which Oklahoma has replaced. This will be the fourth meeting between Michigan and Oklahoma, with the Sooners winning the first three games. The teams most recently faced off at the 2024 Jumpman Invitational, with a fourth-quarter Sooner run providing the difference in a 72-62 win in Charlotte.
Michigan returns its top-five scorers from last season's Elite Eight team in Olivia Olson (18.9 ppg), Syla Swords (14.6 ppg), Mila Holloway (12.3 ppg), Te'Yala Delfosse (8.7 ppg) and Ashley Sofilkanich (7.7 ppg).
The Wolverines will host UConn in a marquee non-conference game at Crisler on Nov. 5. Upper bowl tickets for the Nov. 5 game at Crisler are available for purchase starting at $26 each, with a limit of eight per customer. Current season ticket holders can renew their seats from June 10-24. Fans interested in tickets can join the women's basketball ticket interest list.
