Coach Tim Drevno on Dylan McCaffrey
"Dylan is a really competitive guy. He's super smart, and I love the way he throws the ball. He has a quick release, which is always important for a quarterback. He also has great accuracy, another important trait, and he is going to do a great job operating this offense and getting his teammates in the right place. He comes with great pedigree, and we're excited to have him join our team at Michigan."
In the Words of the McCaffrey Family
"Dylan is the third of four boys. His two older brothers had successful high school football careers, and both played D-1 football in college. His dad played in the NFL for 13 years, too. Dylan entered high school not even sure if he wanted to play the game because he wanted to be different and be his own person, not living in the shadows of his family. He contemplated not playing the summer before high school but after much introspection and self-analysis, he came to the conclusion that he absolutely loved everything about the game: the film studies, the meetings, the training, the coming together as a team for one goal.
"He realized he LOVED the game of football. He never looked back after this epiphany. Valor went on to win state the next three of his four years and only losing his sophomore year in the finals by one point, a game he vowed to avenge the next two seasons, and he did. He ended up making his own mark in Colorado football and loving every minute of it along the way. We are very proud of Dylan as an athlete but, most importantly, we are proud of his self-discovery, growth as a leader, faith and strong moral compass. Go Blue!"
