Katie McGregor (1998)
Capping her senior season in which she won seven of eight meets, Katie McGregor became Michigan's first NCAA cross country national champion when she captured the 1998 title at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan. McGregor out-kicked pre-race favorite Amy Skieresz of Arizona in the final 500 meters to finish the 5,000-meter course in 16:47.21, helping U-M place 11th. A two-time cross country All-American, McGregor also became the first woman at Michigan to repeat as the Big Ten Conference cross country champion. » Recap
