 M Day 2013 golf outing -- another great success
Every year, M Day has been one of the great get-togethers of the Letterwinners M Club. The 2013 edition of M Day was no exception. On June 1st, dozens of Michigan letterwinners spanning eight decades of Michigan tradition across a variety of sports returned to Ann Arbor to enjoy golf, food, and the company of old teammates at the University of Michigan Golf Course. As always, several past Michigan coaches and athletic directors were on hand to partake in the golf and good times also. Although the local Ann Arbor weather was forecasting rain for the entire day, the letterwinners prevailed; Mother Nature must indeed be a Michigan fan as we did not have a drop of rain. Out of the 110 golfers and 25 teams in the field, the first place team shot -19 and included Karen Davidson, Mary Petrovich, Patty Whitney, Ashley Bauer, Matt Alessi, and Matt Thompson (below). The second place team with a strong -17 was the team of Jodi Bullinger, Wendy Willford, Cokey Huffman, and Brianna Broderick. Nice job, ladies! That is a record finish by an all-womens' team. The third place team at -14 was Steve Fishman, Bill Lyle, Bill Lyle Jr, and Bill Fraumann. The "Over 65" winning team included Bob Gerometta, George Hoey, and Martin Washington. The M Club had a record-setting group of event sponsors in 2013. We would like to give all of our sponsors a big thank you, especially Karen Davidson for being this year's main event sponsor. Thanks to all of our Letterwinners who joined us on M Day-you made the event a resounding success. We look forward to seeing you back in Ann Arbor for 2014 M Day!
