History
This marks Michigan's second time hosting the tournament since 2000, as the CWPA Eastern Championship was last in Ann Arbor during the 2008 season. The 2013 championship will tie the Wolverines for third on the all-time hosting list with Indiana (2011, 2005) and Harvard (2009, 2003). Only Brown (2012, 2006, 2001) and Princeton (2007, 2002, 2000) have served as the championship site more. Bucknell (2004), which will host the 2014 tournament, and Maryland (2010) have each been the site host once.
In the history of the CWPA Eastern Championship, only five active teams have taken home the championship plaque. Defending champion Princeton (2012, 2000), Indiana (2011, 2003), Michigan (2010, 2009, 2008, 2005, 2002), Hartwick (2007, 2006, 2004) and Brown (2001) join former league members Massachusetts (1999, 1998), Maryland (1997) and Slippery Rock (1996, 1995, 1994, 1993, 1992, 1991, 1990, 1989, 1988) in the record books.
