Brienne Minor (2017 Singles)
As a sophomore in 2017, Brienne Minor became the Michigan women's tennis program's first national champion after winning six matches in six days at Georgia's Dan Magill Tennis Complex. Her victory also marked the first singles national championship for a Big Ten Conference women's tennis player. Minor entered the tournament ranked No. 24 in singles and knocked off three top-16 players en route to the title. She dropped just two sets along the way, both times rallying from a first-set loss to capture the three-set win. In the final, she yielded just six total games to No. 6-ranked Belinda Woolcock of Florida to capture the championship in straight sets. » Recap
