Student Purchased: Students who are not Michigan Men's Basketball Ticket Holders that purchased Men's Basketball tickets.
Available for General Public: Remaining tickets that are available to sell to the general public after Michigan Men's Basketball Student Ticket Holders and the Michigan student population had an opportunity to claim or purchase tickets.
Student Break Games: Bleacher seats will be made available for the two (2) break games.
» 2017-18 Policies
Tickets are electronically placed on each student's MCard. If you replace your MCard, you need to contact the ticket office with the new number on the back of your card (15 digits) and your student ID number.
• Claiming
Attendance is tracked in the first two claim periods for all non-break games, a total of only ten (10) games.
» If a student claims and misses three (3) or more games within the first two claim periods, they are NOT eligible to claim tickets in the third claim period.
» Students receive three (3) ticket returns on the season to account for last-minute change of plans. Must be electronically returned a minimum of 24 hours prior to game. Failure to return a ticket on time and not attending counts as a missed game.
• Attendance
Attendance is tracked by show/no show (points are not used for men's basketball or ice hockey) and can be viewed under 'Student Priority Points on' the student's mgoblue.com account.
Students receive a confirmation email of their successful scan within 30 minutes upon entry. If this email is not received, it is the student's responsibility to check with a ticket taker before halftime to make sure their MCard was scanned.
Break game attendance and third claiming period attendance will only be considered for postseason events when limited inventory is an issue (i.e, B1G Tourney, Final Four). Postseason opportunities will be offered first to those with the best attendance based on the number of games attended.
• Seating
Bleacher seats will be given out first-come first-served, followed by the seats in section 130, before moving into the upper level. Students who would like to sit together are encouraged to arrive at the same time since no seats will be reserved.
• Line Policy
• Non-ticket holders
The student non-basketball ticket holder offer is only for one day (see dates above). Students that cannot make it to our office location on State Street can purchase online through their student account. Students are still limited to one ticket, so if they wish to sit next to a friend, all individuals will need to come to our office location together.
A Ticket Community has been developed via the Student Loyalty Mobile App "H.A.I.L." and includes an area for students to communicate tickets for sale and wanted for purchase.
Student-athletes have access to free tickets (upper level) this year and will have separate tickets allocated to them each game overseen by Compliance.

» FAQs
• How many student tickets were purchased?
There were more than 2,055 student tickets purchased for the 2017-18 season.
• Did you get any student input when coming up with this policy?
Yes. We reviewed the policy with leaders from the Central Student Government and The Maize Rage (Student Section representation) and incorporated their feedback into the policy.
• Why can't you increase the size of the student section?
We need to balance the needs of students, donors, alumni, faculty and the general public (ensuring that new generations of Michigan Basketball fans have a chance to see them in person).
• How does this claim system work?
Student Ticket Holders will need to electronically "claim" the games they are interested in attending. There are three (3) claim periods with specific games available that students can claim. Based on feedback we received from students, the claim periods for the 2017-18 season will last five (5) days (previously two (2) days). Please note the dates and times listed in each claim period, Student Ticket Holders will have the opportunity to self-select the games they wish to attend via their online account at mgoblue.com/tickets.
• Can I get a full refund?
Any Men's Basketball Student Ticket Holder who would like a full refund can notify the ticket office immediately through Friday, Oct. 27. Email your student ID number, name and refund request to mtickets@umich.edu. No refunds will be given on any individual games (either unclaimed or claimed and unattended). Please note, refunds do not include the $15 service charge.
• How do I claim a game?
Tickets are claimed on a first come first serve basis and once all seats are claimed, there are no additional tickets available. Directions on how to claim your tickets will be sent the week of Oct. 16.
• Can I claim more than one game?
Yes. During each respective claim period you can select as many games as you wish within that claim group. Please note the claim period dates.
• What happens if I miss a game I claimed?
If you miss three (3) or more claimed games in the first two claim groups, you will not be eligible for the third and final claim period (which includes Ohio State). Any games claimed and missed during the third and final claim period will affect postseason opportunities (B1G tourney, NCAA).
• What if I can't make it to a claimed game (a game you have a ticket for)?
Students receive three (3) ticket returns on the season to account for last minute change of plans. Tickets must be electronically returned a minimum of 24 hours prior to the game to avoid a penalty. Failure to return a ticket on time and not attending counts as a missed game. Additionally, if you claim a game and you are later unable to attend, you can transfer your ticket to another student up to 3 hours prior to the game at no charge. As long as they attend the game with your ticket -- you will receive attendance credit. More instructions on how to transfer tickets electronically are under the "How To Transfer Your Tickets" header listed below.
• Can I transfer my ticket to a non-student?
Yes. You can transfer your claimed ticket to a non-student for FREE and as long as they attend the game with your ticket -- you will receive attendance credit. The deadline to transfer your ticket is three (3) hours prior to the game. Conversely, if you transfer your ticket to someone and they choose not to attend the game, it will be marked as a missed game on your attendance record.
• How to transfer your tickets:
In order to transfer your tickets, you must sign In to your online account at mgoblue.com/students and then select My Account. Under Manage My Tickets, choose Transfer Tickets and select the game. Enter the recipient's info, click Submit and you're all set! The deadline to transfer your ticket is three (3) hours prior to the game.
Your recipient will receive an email with an invitation to accept the transfer. If they do not accept it within 24 hours, the ticket will be available in your account for you to offer to a new recipient. Please remind your recipient to accept your transfer!
Once the transfer is accepted, a 'Print at Home' pdf ticket will be emailed to them to bring to the game. This pdf must be presented at the student entrance of Crisler Center. Please note that once a transfer is accepted, this cannot be undone and you cannot reclaim the ticket in your account.
» Additional Details: How to Transfer Your Tickets
• What happens if not all tickets are claimed by Student Ticket Holders?
Students who are not Ticket Holders will be given an opportunity to purchase those tickets. Single game prices for students vary from $5-$15, depending on the opponent. There is a limit of one (1) ticket per student, per game available. These sales to students who are not Ticket Holders will take place for one day only at mgoblue.com/tickets and clicking 'Michigan Students' to login to your account, and at the Michigan Athletics Ticket Office. If you wish to sit next to a friend, we encourage you to come in person to the Ticket Office. If any tickets remain after all the student sales, the tickets will be available to the general public at the public single game price. This tiered approach will ensure that we have a full student section in Crisler Center every single game.
• How are seats assigned?
It is still first come first serve seating for Men's Basketball games for all ticket holders who claim tickets. Non-student ticket holders and any tickets sold to the general public will be assigned seats in the upper level.
• How are student break games being handled this season?
Student break games are included in the cost of a student ticket. This season, there are two (2) student break games. Please note -- similar to all previous seasons -- only the bleacher seats will be made available for student-break games. Attendance to break games will not affect your claim attendance but will help determine your postseason opportunities.
• I replaced my MCard, what do I need to do now?
Your ticket information DOES NOT automatically transfer if you replace your MCard. You must contact us at 734-764-0247 or mtickets@umich.edu with the new number on the back of your card and your student ID number. The deadline to guarantee entry to the game is 4 p.m. for any weekday games, and Friday at 4 p.m. for weekend games. If you do not contact us with updated information, your attendance for that game will not be credited even if you attend the game.
