Brock Huntzinger enters his second season with the Michigan program as the team's pitching coach.
In his first year with the Wolverines, Huntzinger mentored the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year in Connor O'Halloran and helped Mitch Voit to many accolades as a two-way player. During his second year with the program, Huntzinger helped three pitchers earn Big Ten Pitcher of the Week honors and two pitchers earn All-Big Ten honors.Â
Huntzinger joined from Boise State where he served in the same role for two years. Before arriving in Boise, Huntzinger spent time as an undergraduate assistant coach at Indiana and Arizona State serving with Head Coach Tracy Smith, after 10 seasons in professional baseball.
Huntzinger was drafted out of high school by the Boston Red Sox in the third round where he made it to Triple-A. Â He then spent time in the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland A's, and Chicago White Sox' organizations before retiring in 2016.
While coaching at Arizona State, Huntzinger earned his bachelor's degree in organizational leadership.
He and his wife, Cait, are parents to three children, daughters Hudson and Parker, and a son, Wells.
