Ernie Lawson is in his second season as a Michigan football defensive graduate assistant coach, where he assists with the defensive line.
Prior to joining U-M, Lawson served as a coach at Santa Fe Christian High School.
Lawson was a four-year letterman and three-year starter on the defensive line at San Diego State (2006-10). He appeared in 43 career games with 30 starts. Lawson totaled 79 career stops, 19 tackles-for-losses and four sacks for the Aztecs.
Lawson earned his bachelor[apos]s degree in exercise and nutritional sciences from San Diego State.
He attended St. Patrick-St. Vincent High School, where he earned league Defensive Player of the Year as a senior.
