Christina Marquette enters her second season as the Michigan women's basketball Director of Player Personnel in 2022-23. Marquette comes to Michigan after spending five years as an assistant coach at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
During her time at Bates, Marquette helped the Bobcats qualify for the NESCAC Tournament in 2017 and 2020. She was responsible for scouting, game planning and team preparation for six regular-season contests per year. That included film breakdown and analysis, practice planning, game strategizing and generating opponent scouting reports. She was also responsible for individual workouts, player development planning, mental toughness training, recruiting and organizing community service opportunities for the team. Marquette also ran Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages for the team.
Prior to joining the coaching staff at Bates, Marquette spent the 2015-16 season at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania. In addition to her coaching responsibilities, she also was responsible for fundraising events and game management for fall and spring sports. Susquehanna participated in the Landmark Tournament during that season. She also spent time coaching at Next Level Strong at the same time, mainly working on court in clinics. She served as the head coach of the girls' 7th and 8th grade AAU teams.
Marquette played four seasons at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, graduating as the career leader in scoring, rebounding and free throw percentage. She was named the 2015 NCAC Player of the Year, was a three-time NCAC first-team honoree (2013-15) and the 2012 NCAC Newcomer of the Year. Marquette also won numerous awards from the Division III Great Lakes Region, highlighted by a first-team honor in 2015. She was named the 2015 Female Athlete of the Year at Oberlin and earned the 2015 Oberlin Honda Scholar-Athlete Award.
Marquette graduated with a B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies from Oberlin and has an M.S. in Psychology from California Southern University.
