Emily Herard

Emily Herard is in her fourth season with the Michigan women's basketball program in 2025-26, moving to video coordinator for the 2023-24 season after spending the 2022-23 season as the Director of Player Personnel and Recruiting. Herard rejoins the program she worked with during her undergraduate time at U-M after spending several years in the private sector.
As the video coordinator, she assists the coaching staff and student-athletes with all video aspects of the women’s basketball program including coding and filming all practices; coordinating scouting video for all upcoming games; producing special video projects, including player highlight videos; supervising the logistics for student managers; assisting with on-campus recruiting; and organizing recruiting graphics.
Herard returns to Michigan after spending three years (2020-22) working with Stanley Black & Decker, most recently serving as a brand manager. She was responsible for brand marketing for a $145 million portfolio, creating marketing content for new product launches. She also spent time as a sales coordinator and associate brand manager during her time there.
She also served as an assistant coach for the Friends School of Baltimore High School girls basketball team during the 2021-22 season.
Herard spent the 2019 season with the Seattle Storm, serving as a basketball operations intern. She assisted with the daily operations of the team, including setup and breakdown for team practices, working with coaches during player workouts and managing equipment and uniforms. She worked all home games, working with visiting teams and ensuring that home game logistics ran smoothly.
Herard graduated from the University of Michigan in 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Ross School of Business along with a Bachelor of Arts in Sport Management. She spent 2016-19 as a manager for the women's basketball program, also serving as head manager during her time. She helped coordinate student manager schedules, worked with coaches and players during both practice and games, while also accompanying the team on road trips. She organized equipment and uniforms, while also recording in-game statistics to help U-M maximize performance.
