Former University of Michigan women’s soccer player Taylor Timko makes her return to Ann Arbor as head coach Jen Klein has named her the director of operations for the women’s soccer team in the 2021 season.
Timko is responsible for assisting in all phases of the program such as overseeing team logistics, travel and administrative duties. She will also help organize recruiting visits and travel as well as coordinate special events and projects.
Timko was a member of the Michigan soccer team from 2014-2018, missing the 2016 season due to injury. The Rochester Hills, Mich. native was a three time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, a Capital One Academic All-District Five first team honoree, a CoSIDA Academic All-District Five second team member and was named second team All-Big Ten as a defender. She was also the Michigan Athletics’ Female Rookie of the Year and earned Big Ten All-Freshman Team honors.
Timko appeared in 71 career games as a Wolverine and recorded 38 points before graduating with a degree in biology. Following graduation, Timko played professionally in Brisbane, Australia before returning to Michigan to coach for her local high school and club team, while also working as a scribe in an OBGYN’s office.
Along with her duties as a coach, Timko started an organization called MindSoul Sports which offers seminars, mentorship and additional resources to help youth athletes improve their performance by optimizing their mentality.
