Jack Medley is in his third season as the University of Michigan wrestling program's director of operations. A two-time NCAA qualifier, Medley wrestled for the Wolverines from 2018-23.
Among his responsibilities, he will assist the coaching staff in the management day-to-day operations, assist with administrative duties and organization of recruiting activities, coordinate team travel logistics and develop and execute plan for increased and year-round community outreach and grass-roots marketing.
Medley spent the last six years with the Wolverine program and much of the last four seasons in the starting lineup at 125 and 133 pounds. A two-time NCAA qualifier, Medley posted fourth place at the 2020 Big Ten Championships before Covid-19 canceled the NCAA Tournament -- he was named a NWCA Honorable Mention All-American -- and earned top-five finishes at the prestigious Midlands Championships and Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational. He accumulated 93 career wins at Michigan, including a 32-14 mark in duals.
A native of Chesterfield, Mich., Medley earned a bachelor's degree in sport management in 2022 and added master's of management degree in 2023. He was a five-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree, a three-time NWCA Scholar All-American and twice named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar. He served as a Michigan team captain in 2022-23 and earned numerous team awards over his tenure, including the program's Steve Fraser Award for mental toughness and Pete Cornell Award for leadership.
