Eddie Heckard

Eddie Heckard is in his first year assisting the Michigan cornerbacks in 2026, and his first year coaching overall.
Heckard was a four-year letterwinner at Weber State (2018-22) and appeared in 49 games, including 42 starts, at cornerback. He earned FCS All-America honors in 2022, All-Big Sky honors four times (three first-team) and was a member of four Big Sky Championship-winning teams.
He transferred up to the Power Four level to play his fifth season at BYU (2023) and appeared in 12 games with 10 starts, earning Big 12 Newcomer of the Year honors. Heckard signed briefly with the Denver Broncos in 2023, and later joined the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL ahead of the 2024 season before beginning his coaching career.
Heckard graduated from Weber State (2022) with degrees in professional sales and mechanical engineering. He earned his post-bachelor's degree from BYU (2023).
