Kavan Puri (kuh-VIN purr-ee) enters his second year with the U-M Men’s Gymnastics team,initially the team’s Program Assistant, before stepping into a new role as Director of Operations. For the team, Kavan leverages his judging certification and business organizations skills to facilitate the program’s internal operations. Additionally, Kavan taps into his interest and experience in sports marketing to promote the team through on-campus and digital activations.
Kavan is one of four Puri brothers, all members/former members of the Michigan Men’s Gymnastics team–including twin brother Akshay, current Junior on the team. A lifelong Chicagoan, Kavan spent his 15 year gymnastics career at Lakeshore Academy, where he contributed to the 2021 Junior National Championship team. At Michigan, Kavan is a Junior pursuing degrees in Economics and Sport Management, with a minor in Business. Outside of the classroom and gym, Kavan’s an avid Chicago sports fan and enjoys cooking.
