- Assistant Football Equipment Manager
Sonny Anderson is in his third season as assistant equipment manager with the Michigan football program. He is responsible for organizing and maintaining equipment, apparel and footwear inventory and is also in charge of all helmet fitting, repairs and maintenance.
Anderson spent most of his undergraduate years at Northern Michigan University, where he was a four-year letter winner playing football, while earning his degree in Business Management (2007). He earned All-Conference honors and the team's Running Back of the Year award (2005) before going on to be named Team Captain in his senior season (2007).
After one season as an assistant equipment manager at NMU, Anderson spent the 2008 NFL season in an equipment management internship role with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization. He went on to receive his AEMA Athletic Equipment Certification in July of 2015.
Anderson resides in Ann Arbor with his wife, Paige and son, Walter.
