- Volunteer Assistant Coach
University of Michigan rowing head coach Mark Rothstein announced the promotion of Felice Mueller from volunteer to graduate assistant coach January 17, 2017.
Mueller joined the U-M staff as a volunteer assistant coach in September, following her fourth place finish in the women's 2- at the 2016 Rio Olympics. She won both the 8+ and the 2- at the World Rowing Cup leading up to the Olympics. Her career with Team USA also includes a gold medal in the 4- at the 2013 World Championships in Chungju, Korea. In more recent seasons, Mueller competed in the fifth World Rowing Cup of her decorated international career (summer 2017) and finished fourth, and won a bronze with the U.S. 8+ at the Senior World Championships (summer 2019).
While coaching for her alma mater, Mueller earned a graduate degree in sustainable systems as part of the School of Natural Resources and Environment.
As an undergrad at Michigan, Mueller studied in the School of Art and Design, graduating in 2012. She was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten selection for her work in the classroom. On the water she was a Pocock first team All-American and was the Big Ten Rowing Athlete of the Year in 2012. She was voted the MGoBlue.com Female Athlete of the Year following her senior season.
Mueller earned All-Big Ten first team honors each of her last two years, winning a Big Ten Championship and finishing second in the country in the varsity eight her final season. She was a two-time CRCA first team All-Region selection.
