Allen Wahl

Robert Allen Wahl was named as an All-America tackle in 1949 by Grantland Rice and repeated in 1950. He played in the 1951 All-Star Game. Six-feet, three-inches tall, he weighed a lean 225 pounds. A former Army boxing champion, he was extremely quick and strong for a big man. He played on U-M teams that compiled a 21-5-2 record and won three Big Ten titles and one national championship. As captain of the 1950 Michigan squad, he led the Wolverines to their third consecutive conference title. Wahl was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 1951 NFL Draft.
