COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The University of Michigan women's soccer team picked up its first Big Ten Conference victory of the season on Sunday, blanking Ohio State 2-0 in Columbus.
The Wolverines received all the offense they would need as Jessica Limauro (Troy, Mich./Troy HS) continued to pour on the offensive numbers, netting both U-M goals. Her first came in the 14th minute off a feed from Mari Hoff (Canton, Mich./Salem HS). Limauro added an insurance goal six minutes into the second half to put Michigan up 2-0.
Jessica Jones (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) went the distance in net, making four saves and improving her record to 3-1-0.
Michigan continues Big Ten play Friday (Oct. 2) as the Wolverines host Iowa at 4 p.m. at the Michigan Soccer Field.
