Michigan Prepares for Big Ten Singles Championship

Senior Matt Wright (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Collegiate HS) heads into competition as the No. 2-seeded player at the tournament. Wright faces Minnesota's Eric Robertson in the first round and enters the competition with a 7-3 record this season.
Senior co-captain John Long (Ann Arbor, Mich/ Huron HS) joins Wright as one of the 16 seeded players at the championship. Long is the No. 8 seed and drew Iowa's Petar Mandic in first-round action. Long heads into action with a team-best eight wins (8-4) this season.
Joining Wright and Long in the main draw competition are senior Ron Nano (Great Neck, N.Y./South HS), and the sophomore trio of Henry Beam (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix HS), Ben Cox (Spring Lake, Mich./Spring Lake HS) and Danny McCain (Largo, Fla./Canterbury School).
Senior co-captain Brad McFarlane (Kingston, Ontario/Bayridge Secondary HS) and freshman Zach Held (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central HS) will compete in the 32-player draw for No. 7 and No. 8 competitors.
