Tulsa jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the match with wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spot. Michigan senior co-captains John Long (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron HS) and Brad McFarlane (Kingston, Ontario/Bayridge Secondary HS) kept Tulsa from a sweep by collecting an 8-6 victory over Dane McGregor and Steve Timperley at the No. 2 doubles spot.
The Wolverines continued their dominating singles play, winning all six matches for the second straight competition (have won 17 of 18 singles contests in dual match action), and claimed the 6-1 margin of victory. Senior Matt Wright (Wichita, Kan./Wichita Collegiate HS), Long and the sophomore trio of Danny McCain (Largo, Fla./Canterbury School), Henry Beam (Kalamazoo, Mich./Loy Norrix HS) and Ben Cox (Spring Lake, Mich./Spring Lake HS) won straight-set matches. Senior Ron Nano (Great Neck, N.Y./South HS) came back after dropping the first set to beat Sean Monk in three sets at the No. 6 spot (5-7, 6-4, 6-2).
