Michigan Sprinters Compete at Texas Relays
4/7/2000 12:00:00 AM | Women's Track & Field
The Michigan runners did not qualify for any of the event finals, but did have some noble performances. Brandi Bentley (Detroit, Mich./Marian HS) ran a personal-best time of 12.16 in the 100-meter dash and placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 20-2 1/2. Bentley was also part of the 4x100-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay teams -- with Tasha Phillips (Sarasota, Fla./Booker HS), Robin Landfair (Okemos, Mich./Okemos HS) and Tamika Craig (Inkster, Mich./Robichaud HS) -- that came in 20th (46.61) and 12th (3:42.70), respectively.
The rest of the Wolverines will compete tomorrow (Saturday, April 8) at the Purdue Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind., against Central Michigan, Ball State, Penn State and Purdue at the Rankin Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
