ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- A pair of former University of Michigan women's basketball players -- Stacey Thomas (Flint, Mich./Southwestern Academy) and Pollyanna Johns (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township HS) -- are listed on the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) opening day rosters as the league's fourth season moves into full swing.

Thomas (1996-2000) became the Wolverines' first Kodak All-American as a senior, earning honorable mention in 2000. She was an All-Big Ten Conference first-team selection in 2000 and was selected as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year. Thomas closed her career as Michigan's fourth all-time leading scorer (1,556 points) and the Big Ten's all-time steals leader (372).
Johns, who played at Michigan from 1994-98, is on the injured reserve list for the Cleveland Rockers and will miss the first three games. Johns, a 6-foot-3 center/forward, signed a free agent contract with the Rockers in early May. Johns spent the 1999 season playing in Barcelona, Spain, where she led the Spanish league in rebounding (11.4 rpg). She was a member of the WNBA's Charlotte Sting during the 1998 season, averaging 2.6 points and 1.5 rebounds in 24 games.
Johns became the first player in Michigan women's basketball history to earn All-Big Ten first-team honors, in 1998. She closed her career ranked sixth all-time in scoring (1,251) and is still U-M's all-time leading field goal shooter (.552, 477-864).
