Hart Receives Pair of Big Ten Conference Honors

PARK RIDGE, Ill. -- University of Michigan women's tennis player Brooke Hart (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson HS) received recognition from the Big Ten Conference with a pair of individual awards. Hart was named to the All-Big Ten Conference team for the second time in her career (1998) and was voted the Big Ten Sportswoman of the Year for the first time.

 

Hart

A senior co-captain for the Wolverines tennis program, Hart has compiled a team-best 23-12 overall singles record and is 14-8 at the No. 1 singles spot. Hart posted a 7-3 record against Big Ten Conference opposition this year and was named the Big Ten Player of the Month for March. She is currently listed No. 101 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national singles rankings and boasts an impressive 73-58 career singles record at Michigan (lists tied for seventh all-time in school history).

Hart joins fellow classmate and co-captain Danielle Lund (Leominster, Mass./Leominster HS), Jaimie Fielding (1995) and Mary Mactaggart (1982) as the school's only recipients of the Sportswoman of the Year award. Lund was recognized with the honor last year.
