Wolverines Shut Out on Road by No. 17 Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The University of Michigan women's tennis team suffered its second straight loss, falling 4-0 against No. 17-ranked Tennessee Sunday afternoon (Feb. 11) at the Goodfriend Tennis Complex. The Lady Volunteers (3-0) gained the doubles point with victories in two of the three matches and won the only three singles matches finished.
The Wolverines (3-2) earned their only victory of the match during doubles play, as junior Szandra Fuzesi (Budapest, Hungary/Balassi Balint Gimnazium) and freshman Kim Plaushines (Oconomowoc, Wis./Kettle Moraine HS) posted an 8-3 victory over Agnes Wiski and Kim Gates at the No. 2 spot.
Michigan takes a week off before returning the hardcourt. The Wolverines begin their Big Ten Conference season against Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Varsity Tennis Center, starting at 11 a.m.
