DeWildt Vaults to Third Place at Jesse Owens Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The University of Michigan men's track team sent senior Charles DeWildt (Wyoming, Mich./Grand Rapids Catholic Central HS) to compete in the pole vault at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Classic on Sunday (May 6).
DeWildt finished third behind a pair of Michigan State Spartans with a height of 16-6 3/4. DeWildt had competed two days earlier at the Toledo Invitational (May 4) and won that event with a height of 15-0.
DeWildt and the rest of Michigan return to action next Friday and Saturday (May 11-12), hosting the Len Paddock Invitational on Ferry Field to close the regular season. Field events begin both days at 11 a.m. Track events start at 6:45 p.m. on Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
