Fourteen Wolverines Compete at Eastern Michigan Open

Freshman Nick Roy (Wall, N.J./Wall HS) led the way for the Wolverines, finishing as runner-up at 174 pounds after cruising into the final bout with decisive wins in his first four matches. In the final match, Roy narrowly lost a 4-3 decision to Eastern Michigan's J.J. Holmes to finish second at the tournament.
Also placing for Michigan were freshman 157-pounder Rob Sulaver (Dearborn, Mich./Dearborn HS), who battled back through the consolation bracket from an early second-round loss to claim fifth place, and sophomore David Felger (Iron River, Mich./West Iron County HS), who compiled a 3-2 record en route to a sixth-place finish at 174 pounds.
The Wolverines will return to the mat next weekend to compete unattached in the annual Michigan State Open (Nov. 9-10) in East Lansing, Mich.
