Wolverines Take Three of Top Four Spots in CCC Win

Brannen finished the 8,000-meter race at 25:22, three seconds off the pace of Western Michigan's Chris Stine. Following Brannen across the finish line in third and fourth place were sophomore Tarn Leach (East Jordan, Mich./East Jordan HS) and senior/junior Nick Stanko (Wyandotte, Mich./Roosevelt HS) with times of 25:23.
Rounding out the quintet of Wolverines in the top 10, senior/junior Ryan Hesselink (Freeport, Mich./Thornapple-Kellogg HS) placed sixth (25:34) and freshman Nick Willis (Lower Hutt, New Zealand/Hutt Valley HS) finished in seventh (25:36).
Running unattached, Michigan freshman Andrew Bauer (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Lahser HS) won the CCC's 5,000-meter race with a time of 16:04.
The Wolverines' next action will take place Friday, Oct. 4, at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind. The race is set to start at 5:30 p.m EST/CDT.
