Michigan Completes Fall Schedule with Head of the Elk

ELKHART, Ind. -- The University of Michigan women's rowing team concluded its fall season today (Sunday, Oct. 26) with a solid overall showing at the Head of the Elk on the St. Joseph's River. All four of U-M's eights had top-four showings in the 2.5-mile head race, including a first-place finish by the second varsity eight.
Competing in the 18-boat Women's Open A division, the first varsity eight finished in fourth place. The second varsity eight crew garnered top honors in the Women's Open B division by finishing first among 11 teams, and the third and fourth Michigan eights grabbed second- and third-place finishes, respectively, in the nine-crew Women's C division.
While the varsity crew members are done with competition until next spring, Michigan's novice team will host Eastern Michigan next Saturday (Nov. 1) at Belleville Lake.
