The regatta was originally scheduled for Saturday but was postponed a day due to high winds.

In the closest contest of the morning, U-M's second varsity four pulled off a come-from-behind victory with just 300 meters of the 1,950-meter course remaining. Nipping the Spartans, the Wolverines finished just under a second quicker with a time of 7:45.48 compared to MSU's 7:46.41.
Michigan State edged the Wolverines in each of the two novice races of the day. The Spartans posted times of 7:06.06 for their first novice eight and 7:17.56 for their second, while Michigan produced times of 7:11.97 and 7:23.00, respectively.
