ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The National Field Hockey Coaches Association announced on Tuesday (Nov. 23) that University of Michigan senior Adrienne Hortillosa (Chula Vista, Calif./Bonita Vista HS) and junior Lori Hillman (Gibbsboro, N.J./Eastern Regional HS) are among 48 collegiate student-athletes named to its 2004 NCAA Division I All-America team. Both U-M players earned the national recognition for the first time as Hortillosa was voted to the first team and Hillman was a third-team selection.

Hortillosa, the Big Ten Conference's Player of the Year, garnered all-regional recognition from the NFHCA for the second time during her U-M career, adding to her All-West Region second team honors in 2003. The senior midfielder ranked second in scoring for the Wolverines, tallying career highs in goals (16) and points (43) while leading U-M in assists for the third consecutive season with 11.
Hillman, the Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year as well as Big Ten Tournament's Most Valuable Player, was also an All-West Region first team choice for the first time after registering one goal and 10 assists for 12 points while quarterbacking the Michigan defense, which limited opponents to just 1.39 goals per game and boasted nine shutouts.
Michigan (17-6, 5-1 Big Ten) concluded the 2004 campaign with its sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. The Wolverines were also regular-season tri-champions in the Big Ten, marking their fifth title in the last six years, and won the Big Ten Tournament for the third time in program history.
