ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- University of Michigan director of athletics Bill Martin announced today (Tuesday, March 8) the season ticket prices for the upcoming 2005 football season. In conjunction with the new preferred seating program, the athletic department will return to a uniform ticket price starting with the 2005 season.
Season ticket prices will be $350 for every public season ticket holder, no matter their seat location, calculated as follows: $45 per game for Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan; $50 per game for Minnesota, Penn State and Indiana; and $55 per game for Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Under U-M's new preferred seating program, season ticket holders sitting on the sidelines must annually donate $250, $190, $125 or $60 for the 2005 football season and $500, $375, $250 or $125 for the 2006 season to renew their season tickets in the preferred location. Season ticket holders sitting in the end zones are exempt, with the exception of new season ticket holders assigned end zone seats, who will need to annually contribute a minimum gift of $50 per seat to renew their season tickets starting with the 2005 season. Eighty percent of the donation may be tax-deductible.
Season ticket prices for students will be $157. The student ID policy will again be in effect this season, under which a student must present his or her student MCard, along with a student ticket, upon entering the stadium. A student ticket may be used to admit a non-student by validating the ticket at a price of $27.
Single-game tickets will be priced at $49 for non-conference games against Northern Illinois and Eastern Michigan; $54 for Big Ten match-ups with Minnesota, Penn State and Indiana; and $59 for the premium games against Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Season ticket renewal applications will be mailed at the beginning of April. The deadline for season ticket transfers for the 2006 season is April 30, 2005.
The Wolverines open their seven-game home schedule against Northern Illinois on Saturday, Sept. 3, at Michigan Stadium.
