Michigan Head Coach James Henry
On the championships ... "Overall, I think the team did as well as we could with the combination of Illinois doing very well -- they did some things that we didn't expect -- and us not doing some things we did expect. Sierra (Hauser-Price) was impressive; we were very happy with her performance. We were happy with the 1,500 and 800 meters. We just didn't get enough people to be the bridesmaids, the people that scrap out those other points. I was happy with those who did well. We gave it a good shot, it just wasn't enough."
On next week's regional ... "We're just hoping that the kids can get a good rest now. The goal was to peak, and they did peak, it just wasn't quite good enough. Now, we want to rest up and try to have some great individual performances."
Fifth-Year Senior Lindsey Gallo
On winning the 1,500-meter title ... "It is a great feeling. I won this event last year, and to win back-to-back championships is something I am very proud of. Now my focus is going to NCAAs and challenging for a national championship."
Junior/Sophomore Katie Erdman
On winning the 800-meter title ... "It feels great. We were blessed with awesome weather, a great field of competitors and a great race. I cannot believe I won. I didn't really do anything different than I have done all year. I just found my stride and kept a good pace. It was a good race. The weather was a lot better than I was expecting it to be, and that was a huge relief. Robinson from Illinois took it out, and we kind of expected that. It was perfect; it was exactly where we wanted to be. I got a little antsy at 400 and told myself to wait for the backstretch before I go around her. She put up a fight, but it turned out very well. I'm very happy with the race."
Senior Sierra Hauser-Price
On competing in four races on Sunday ... "I'm tired, but I'm more disappointed than anything else. You always come out here to win. That didn't quite happen today. You can't win them all, and we all gave our hearts. I certainly did. I left everything out there, and that's all you can ask for. It's my job to score some points, that's what I'm expected to do. Unfortunately, I didn't score all the points I wanted to, but I did contribute."
On her close 100-meter finish "I thought I got nudged at the end. I couldn't see who got me. I didn't think I'd won it when they announced it, so I wasn't too surprised."
