Michigan Head Coach Debbie Rademacher
On the importance of the success on set pieces "In the college game, thats a difference maker. The teams that can put away their set pieces can either win or stay in games. Every team is dangerous on them and we really try to focus and work hard on them."
On the play of the defense "(Graduate-Senior Lindsey Cottrell) has that experience being here for a fifth year. She had a terrific game. Everybody was solid. Kylie (Neschke) was back there (on defense) for the first time for a full game. She did great. Everybody came to play. They showed up to play and they really performed well."
Senior Midfielder Sarah Banco
On her goal "I ran near post and the ball popped out. I got there as soon as I could -- it came off of an Indiana player -- and I just got there with my left foot and got around it."
On the confidence boost from today's performance "This is a huge step for us. The tempo of this game was great. It was a huge moral victory for us. Even though we didn't win, we tied and thats a step for us. We scored a goal, which we haven't been scoring a ton. Our team defense held a tie and that was great for us. We know there is not a team left on our schedule that we can't beat, so we need to keep the energy up on the field.
Graduate-Senior Defender Lindsey Cottrell
On tonight's defensive success "I completely attribute it to the whole team's play. We didn't allow as many shots and we had no corners (allowed) -- which is a huge defensive statistic. When you don't allow any corner kicks, it means you're shutting down their offense. Looking back, the midfield did a great job recovering today."
