"Serving and Passing" allows a U-M volleyball player to interview another for MGoBlue.com and ask several stock questions along with a few of her own. Each week one Wolverine will "serve" up questions and then "pass" the tape recorder and reporter's hat to the interviewee, who will select a subject for the following week, when she becomes the interviewer. Check back every Wednesday for a new installment.
The 2007 season of "Serving and Passing" concludes with freshman middle blocker/right-side hitter Jackie Nissen peppering senior libero Stesha Selsky with questions.
How did you get started in volleyball
My mom started me when I was in second grade playing beach volleyball. Then it just went downhill from there. I played every day of my life.
What is your favorite game day routine
Making sure that my shoelaces are not broken and stretching out my jersey because it's always really little.

What is your favorite non-volleyball Michigan memory
Learning how to salsa dance and carving pumpkins at Halloween with my best friend.
What is your favorite volleyball Michigan memory
When I came in as a freshman, during preseason our senior setter, Lisa Gamalski, threatened to kick me out of the gym because I was not executing the drill correctly. From that point on, she was my favorite person to play with and has become one of my favorite people and this is because I never actually got kicked out of the gym.
What piece of advice would you give to a younger player looking to be a college player
There will always be a place for you somewhere, you just have to find it.
What was the biggest adjustment you had to make from living in California to living in Michigan
Buying a down coat that goes down to my knees so that I can walk to class comfortably. I learned the Eskimo ways.
What is your favorite thing to do with your time off from volleyball
Eat dessert.
Who is your role model and why
Ronaldinho. He's the best soccer player in the world. He's my role model because there has never been a soccer game where he has not smiled the entire time.
What do you plan to do with your last semester of college
Study and intern abroad in Australia.
What is the thing you are going to miss most about Michigan
Pizza Bob's mint chocolate chip and Oreo shakes.
