QUOTES
Michigan Head Coach Andrew Sapp
On the tournament weekend ... "We never really got anything going. We just did not play to our potential. Out of all of our rounds only one was under par and that was a 70 from Nick (Pumford). Today, we just were not able to catch fire and get going. It was that way most of the weekend. We did not have a score worse than 75, but that just goes to show you we did not play terrible, but we did not play to the level that we are capable of. We could not get any putts to drop. We hit some bad shots off the tee and made some double bogeys from those and that hurt us if we were going to have any chance of moving up the leaderboard. We thought we had a shot to move up to fourth or fifth if we had a good round, but unfortunately that did not happen. But we have a short week ahead to get some things worked out before our trip to California where we will play in some hot weather. Hopefully there our games will get a little hotter than they were this week."
U-M Senior Nick Pumford
On the team's play at the Windon Memorial ... "We just didn't get it done this weekend. We had three mediocre rounds and that cost us in the standings. The way it has been going this year, this weekend was a bit surprising. We know our capabilities and we just did not reach them this weekend. We had some good play, but we know we can play better. We know what we need to work on and the course was a really good test for us. You had to drive it straight and when you did not it cost you. I know driving is something I will be working on this week. We will have qualifying and get back out there and move on from here and get ready for the trip to California."
