Everyone on the Michigan women's gymnastics team had been looking forward to December 30 for a long time. The date had been marked on calendars, circled in red, put into planners and posted on notes all over apartments and houses in Ann Arbor. The Wolverines were heading to Cancun where they will open the season on Friday.

December 31 -- A Mexican New Year

The team got down to business in the second day in Cancun, visiting the Mexican National Training Center for practice on Wednesday. The rest of the day was about relaxing and enjoying the final day of the year. More sun, more great food and excellent company.

The team enjoyed a fancy dinner out and then stayed together to ring in the new year in style.
