
Rosso, Kelley Represent Michigan at Winter Cup

LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- The No. 6-ranked University of Michigan men's gymnastics team sent two Wolverines to the 2008 Winter Cup Challenge final round on Saturday (Feb. 9) at Sports Center Arena. Freshman Thomas Kelley(Libertyville , Ill./Libertyville) led the Wolverines with an 18th place finish, tallying 80.700 points.
Kelley competed in the all-around. His best performance was 11th in the high bar (14.150). Kelley also tied for 17th in the vault with a 15.000 and placed 19th on the still rings with a 14.350.
Junior Ralph Rosso(Morganville, N.J./St. John Vianney) competed in each event but the high bar. His best finish was 21st in the floor exercise with a 13.400 at the finals.
Former Wolverine Geoff Corrigan, competing for USOTC, finished 25th overall. He did not compete in the floor exercise or the high bar. Corrigan's best performance of the night came on the parallel bars where he finished 14th (14.700). He placed 20th on vault with a 14.950.
Michigan returns to team competition Saturday (Feb. 23) at the Pacific Coast Classic in Oakland, Calif. Action begins at 7 p.m. PST.
