
Holody Selected to PDL All-League Team

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Senior defender Michael Holody(Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) of the University of Michigan men's soccer team was named to the United Soccer Leagues All-Premier Development League team Friday (Aug. 8). Holody, who suits up for the Michigan Bucks, was one of eleven selected from the 1,600 players that make up the 67-team league.
Holody, a two-time captain for the Bucks, appeared in 13 contests and chipped in a goal. He has played an integral role in the Bucks run over the past three seasons that includes a PDL title in 2006 and the best regular-season record in 2008. Holody has also been named to the PDLs Central Conference Best XI each of the last two seasons. He becomes the second Wolverine to land on the PDL All-League team, joining Kevin Taylor (2000-03), who made the 2005 squad while playing for the Bucks.
The Michigan senior had four goals and two assists during his junior campaign with Michigan in 2007. As a result, Holody was named to the All-Big Ten second team.
Michigan opens the 2008 campaign with an exhibition game against No. 2 Connecticut on Saturday (Aug. 16) at Eastern Michigans Scicluna Field in Ypsilanti, Mich. The contest has a start time of 6 p.m.
