
Wolverines' First Eight Finishes 11th at Head of the Charles

BOSTON, Mass. -- The University of Michigan rowing team placed all three of its boats in the top 20 of their respective races at the 45th Annual Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday (Oct. 18) on the Charles River.
In the women's championship eight division, U-M's first eight placed 11th, while the second eight placed 17th. The Maize and Blue four took 16th overall in the women's championship four division.
U-M's first eight placed seventh among the collegiate boats with a time of 17:08.542. Michigan's second eight finished with a time of 17:44.602, which was among the top times among all U.S. collegiate second eights.
The Michigan four placed 16th with a time of 20:40.537 and finished 13th among the 14 collegiate boats in the competition.
This is the second consecutive season that the Wolverines have placed all three boats in the top 20 in the prestigious Head of the Charles.
The Wolverines will next race on Nov. 7 when they host the Belleville Classic on Belleville Lake. The U-M novice team will take on Michigan State in a fall scrimmage on Oct 25 in East Lansing, Mich.
