
Wolverines Sign Nine Student-Athletes for 2010-11 Season

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - University of Michigan rowing head coach Mark Rothstein announced today (Nov. 19) the signing of nine student-athletes for the 2010-11 academic year. The class includes rowers from California, Tennessee, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.
"I am very pleased with this class," said Rothstein. "All nine are talented rowers and students, and we feel they are a great fit for the university and our program.I am really excited to have these young women join our team in the fall."
Joining the Wolverines from California include: Emily Sullenberger, a native of San Jose, who rows with the Los Gatos Rowing Club; Shannon Winchell, from Sacramento, who rows with Capital Crew; Nikki Dahlberg-Seeth, from Orinda, who competes with Oakland Strokes; and Tara Foley from Los Gatos, a teammate of Sullenberger at the Los Gatos Rowing Club.
Bryna Oleshansky comes to Ann Arbor from Knoxville, Tenn., where she competes with the Atomic Rowing Club. Northbrook, Ill., native Carrie Lofgren joins the team from Loyola Academy where current Wolverine freshman Amanda Langone (Chicago, Ill/Loyola Academy) spent her prep career. Sarah Trovato comes to Michigan from Sewickley, Pa., where she rows with the Three Rivers Rowing Association.
Rounding out the class is a pair from Massachusetts: Priscilla Livingston, a native of Wellesley, who rows with Community Rowing Inc., and Tallen Sloane from Boston, who rows at St. Mark's School where current Wolverine freshman Katie Grossman (Duxbury, Mass. /St. Mark's) spent her prep career.
The Wolverines open the 2010 season on March 6 when they face Miami (Fla.) in Tampa, Fla. The race is set to begin at 1 p.m.
