ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Fifth-year senior Jennifer Mehl(Novi, Mich./Novi) earned second place to lead the No. 4-ranked University of Michigan women's track and field team's pole vaulters at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday afternoon (Feb. 13) at the Laker Turf Building.
Mehl recorded a season-best vault of 3.67m to finish in a four-way tie for second. Senior/junior Sarah Conkle(Bellaire, Mich./Belleaire) finished sixth with a top mark of 3.57m. Jocelyn Kuksa of Grand Valley State won the event with a best vault of 3.77m.
The Wolverines will return to Ann Arbor, Mich., next Saturday (Feb. 21) when they host the Silverston Invitational. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the U-M Indoor Track Building.
