
Competition Assignments Announced for Wolverines' NCAA Trio

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The NCAA Championships committeereleased the rotation schedule and individual competitor assignments for the NCAA PreliminaryCompetitionon Monday (April 6), pairing senior Becky Bernard(Stow, Ohio/Stow-Munroe Falls) with Stanford in the first session on Thursday (April 16) andpairing junior Sarah Curtis(Reno, Nev./Reno) with Utah and sophomore Kylee Botterman(New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) with Oregon State in the second session.Bernard will compete on the uneven bars, Botterman will compete on the floor exercise and Curtis will perform in the all-around competition.
The NCAA Preliminary Competition takes place on Thursday (April 16) and is divided into an afternoon and evening session. The afternoon session, featuring Bernard, will begin at 1 p.m. CDT, while the evening session, featuring Curtis and Botterman, will begin at 7 p.m. CDT. The top four finishers on each event in each preliminary (including ties) will advance to Saturday's NCAA Individual Event Finals on April 18 beginning at 6 p.m. CDT.
Bernard willrotate with Stanford, which took second in the South Central Regional just ahead of the Wolverines, as well as Ohio State all-around qualifier Rebecca Best. Four-time defending champion Georgia, Florida, LSU, Oklahoma and the Big Ten's own Penn State will round out the field in session one.
In session two, Botterman will rotate with Oregon State, which took second in the Central Regional; also competing is Kent State all-around qualifier Christina Lenny. Curtis will pair up with Utah, winners of the West Regional. UCLA, Alabama, Arkansas and the Big Ten's Illinois will round out the field in the evening session.
Bernard is a three-time All-American on the uneven bars, earning All-America first team honors in 2008 and advancing to the NCAA Individual Event Finals. Botterman is a two-time All-American and a first team honoree on bars, advancing to the NCAA Individual Event Finals last season. Curtis is a two-time All-Big Ten first team honoree and has captured four all-around crowns this season, posting 10 scores of 39.000 or better.
