
Brady Earns Three Medals at World University Games

BELGRADE, Serbia --CurrentUniversity of Michigan men's swimmerChris Brady(Wilmington, Del./Mount Pleasant) took home gold in the 400-meter freestyle relay, silver in the 100-meter butterfly and bronze in the 50-meter butterfly, while former Wolverines Matt Patton (2006-09) and Alex Vanderkaay (2005-08) were part of the silver medal 800-meter freestyle relay team at the World University Games, held July 5-11, in Belgrade, Serbia. Vanderkaay also took home gold in the 200-meter individual medley and silver in the 400-meter individual medley.
Brady, a four-time All-America honoree during the 2008-09 season, was part of the victorious 400-meter freestyle relay team that stopped the clock in 3:14.74. Brady also took runner-up honors in the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 51.62 while wrapping up the competition with a third-place showing in the 50-meter butterfly (23.56).
Patton, who just wrapped up his four-year career as a Wolverine, teamed up with Vanderkaayto finish runner-up in the 800 freestyle relay. The duo was part of a team that finished in 7:14.20. Vanderkaay picked up an individual gold medal in the 200 individual medley (1:57.58) and a silver in the 400 individual medley (4:12.48).
