Series Notes
Michigan lost its third straight game against Michigan State, falling to 133-121-18 all-time.
U-M trails 42-60-8 in East Lansing. Michigan has compiled a 1-4-1 record in its last six contests at Munn Ice Arena.
Team Notes
The Wolverines tallied multiple power-play goals (2) for the second consecutive game and 10th time this season. U-M finished the contest 2-for-10 with the man-advantage.
U-M was penalized 14 times tonight, the second-most this season, for 36 minutes. Michigan accumulated 19 penalties for 65 minutes against Boston University (Oct. 24, 2009).
Michigan is 2-10-1 when the opponent scores first.
U-M is still looking for its first road victory against a ranked opponent this season, failing to do so in five tries (0-5-0).
Individual Notes
Chris Summers played in his 150th career game tonight. The milestone ties him with two others for 18th on the defensemen games played list. The only two games he has missed in his career were at the 2007 GLI Tournament while he was playing for Team USA at the World Junior Championships.
Carl Hagelin notched his 13th goal of the season early in the third period, matching his career high set during his sophomore season (2008-09).
Louie Caporusso potted his seventh goal of the season, ending his five-game skid without a goal. Four of his seven goals are on the power play.
Matt Rust recorded an assist on U-M's first goal, giving Rust a share of the team lead with Carl Hagelin (15).
Steve Kampfer posted his 12th assist and 13th point of the season, extending his lead as the highest-scoring defenseman on the team.
