Michigan Senior Goalie Shawn Hunwick
On the third period ... "We thought we were just going to try and win 1-0, but obviously they got that goal and then we answered right back and then they did it again. There was a six- or seven-minute stretch where things got pretty crazy."
On seeing minimal shots to start the game ... "It's tough after a two-week break, you kind of want to come in and get some shots right away. Even the 13 shots through the first two periods I only had to make one or two tough saves. They were just throwing pucks on net from the walls. It was nice to get some shots in the third period."
On the meaning of making the GLI championship game ... "This is obviously the game you want to get into. You want to play in the championship game. The GLI (title) is something that we strive for all season long. You also want to have that championship game experience to better prepare yourself for tight games in March."
U-M Sophomore Center A.J. Treais
On his game-winning goal ... "Greg Pateryn did a good job keeping the puck in and he just tried to get the puck to the net. He threw it at a guy, it hit him and then I put the puck (off the) post and in. I don't know what happened after that. (Celebrating) I did a few windmills and jumped into the glass."
On goals from Lindsay Sparks and Jeff Rohrkemper ... "I think it says a lot about our team for how deep we can be when guys go out, we can cycle guys in. They've been dying to play all year, and when they got their opportunity you can see that they can play (well)."
