Michigan Head Coach James Henry
On different people stepping up this weekend ... "That is what we wanted to see this weekend. There was still work to be done with some kids and most of them accomplished what we wanted them to do, which was to continue to get better. With the track events, it was obviously Charnee (Lumbus) in the 60 hurdles. In the field, it was probably two-fold with Ada (Unachukwu) in the triple jump and the pole vaulters. Those were step-up performances and that was what we were looking for."
On practice and preparing ... "It was more focused this past week. We got thorough the crucial part of our indoor season before Big Ten's. They got a better idea of what we wanted them to do and what they need to still improve on. This (upcoming) week, it needs to be a loose but focused week. They need to focus on what they need to do, so workouts are done. We are going to fine tune mentally and physically.
On the goal at next week's Championships ... "To compete as a group. I think that it is important for us to come in as a group. Individually, I think we will have a shot but if we stay together, we can do pretty well as a team."
