Ohio State moved into first place with 592.5 points, while Michigan is right behind with 512.5 points.

Freshman Hassaan Abdel Khalik (Mississauga, Ontario/Silverthorn Collegiate) was right behind him, touching second in 1:34.97, while senior Charlie Houchin (Raleigh, N.C./William G. Enloe) placed fourth (1:35.66).
Senior Chris Brady (Wilmington, Del./Mount Pleasant) won the 100-yard butterfly for the second consecutive season, hitting his first NCAA automatic qualifying time of the season (45.92). Junior Neal Kennedy (Chanhassen, Minn./Chaska) placed fourth (47.32) and senior Alon Mandel (Netanya, Israel/Eldad) finished sixth (47.47).
Mandel picked up a runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke, swimming a season-best time of 47.02. Junior James Ridgeway (Chicago, Ill./Saint Patrick) finished eighth in the 100-yard breaststroke (54.46) as Michigan's lone finals participant.
For the first time at the conference championships, U-M did not win a relay, taking home third place in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:18.54) to start off the evening. Clary anchored the relay with a 19.30 split, but it was not enough to close the gap between first-place Ohio State (1:18.30) and second-place Minnesota (1:18.37).

Tomorrow's events include the 1,650-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly, platform diving and 400-yard freestyle relay.

Q U O T E S
U-M Junior Tyler Clary
On his 400 IM swim ... "The key is to focus on my breaststroke and body position. Body positioning is key. You have to glide on top of the water. I was happy with how it went. Putting distance between myself and the field before the breaststroke was important because it is my toughest event."
U-M Sophomore Dan Madwed
On his 200-yard freestyle performance ... "It's not about me (winning), it's about the team (winning) and beating Ohio State. I wanted to do something to get the team electrified."
